Background: Wolfram Von Bielefeld was born, silver spoon in hand, into a high-class aristocratic home. As a young child, he studied the art of fencing before being sent to a prestigious (read: expensive and snooty) Pokemon Academy. He studied and trained there for five years before graduating and beginning his own journey.

Although childish and immature at times, often adamant about having his own way, Wolfram can be surprisingly resilient in trying moments. He demands the same of his Pokemon, often pushing them (and himself) to their physical boundaries. Determined and aggressive—often bordering on reckless—Wolfram is impatient with the weak-willed and indecisive. While free of malice, he does not concern himself with being kind to others; though he is responsible and never neglects his Pokemon, he has not entirely developed the trust and emotional connection of a truly great trainer.


In pokemondiamond, he has become, in accordance with an ancient tradition/legend/omen/curse/convenient plot device, engaged to Yuuri Shibuya. Wolfram, who has always taken the betrothal much more seriously than Yuuri, is an extremely jealous fiance. As the two travel together (which he insists on) in search of more badges and training, they have grown closer together (mostly as friends), although his posessiveness often leaves Yuuri longing for more breathing space.
